Privacy Policy

This policy describes what information MICROSERVICE.md™ (operated by Koesion, "we", "us") collects when you use microservice.md, and how we use it. MICROSERVICE.md™ is currently in public beta.

Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider, Clerk, collects your email address and, if you sign in with a third-party provider (e.g. Google or GitHub), the basic profile information that provider shares. We don't see or store your password — Clerk handles authentication.

Newsletter signups. If you subscribe to product updates, your email address is sent to our email provider, Beehiiv, solely to send you that newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.

Content you create. The microservice definitions, documentation, and diagrams you create in the product (names, mission statements, API contracts, architecture details, and similar technical content) are stored in our database, tied to your account, so you can retrieve and edit them later.

AI-assisted suggestions. If you use an AI suggestion feature in the wizard (for example, to draft a service description or suggest architecture patterns), the relevant portion of your microservice definition is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate that suggestion. We do not send your full account or billing information to the AI provider.

Usage and analytics data. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our marketing pages (e.g. which pages are viewed, in aggregate). This does not run inside the authenticated product itself.

Technical data. Our hosting provider, Netlify, and our own request logs may record IP addresses and basic request metadata, used only for security (e.g. rate-limiting abuse) and operating the service — never for advertising.

We use the information above to operate and improve the product: to authenticate you, store and generate your documentation, send product updates you've opted into, detect and prevent abuse, and understand aggregate usage so we can prioritize what to build next (see our roadmap).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your microservice definitions for advertising or share it with third parties except the service providers named above, solely to provide the product to you.

Clerk (authentication), Beehiiv (email newsletter), Anthropic (AI-assisted suggestions, only when you use that feature), Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics (marketing-page analytics), and Netlify (hosting). Each operates under its own privacy policy governing how it processes data on our behalf.

We retain your account and microservice content for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the address below — we'll process the request within a reasonable time and confirm once it's complete.

We apply standard security practices (encrypted connections, security headers, rate limiting) to protect your data in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

As MICROSERVICE.md™ moves out of beta, this policy may change. We'll update the date above when it does, and post material changes on this page.
